No TV for USF-Charleston Southern
USF's home game Saturday against Charleston Southern will not be televised, with the game's broadcast available online as a pay-per-view option on GoUSFbulls.com.
The game is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Raymond James Stadium, and fans can watch online for $9.95 through USF's official site. The Bulls could hear today about a kickoff time and broadcast information for the Sept. 26 game at Florida State.
-- USF running back Mo Plancher made the Big East weekly honor roll after rushing for a career-best 115 yards and two touchdowns in the Bulls' 35-13 win at Western Kentucky.
-- USF has adjusted its defensive statistics after watching Saturday's tape, and freshman defensive end Ryne Giddins was given an additional half-tackle for loss on a play where he'd previously shared credit with defensive back Tyson Butler. Giddins played just 11 snaps Saturday, but has two TFLs, as many as George Selvie after two games.
-- Quiet game, by the way, for defensive back Jerome Murphy, who had just one assisted tackle against WKU. Safety Nate Allen is the Bulls' top tackler after two weeks with 17, just ahead of Kion Wilson.
-- Who will be deep for punts this week for USF? Lindsey Lamar lined up first Saturday, but lost a fumble on a play that was wiped out by a WKU penalty. Theo Wilson came in immediately, but he didn't field a kick that bounced off George Baker in coverage and was recovered by WKU -- Baker nearly did the exact same thing on another punt. Faron Hornes lined up deep as well, but lost yardage on his only return.
-- USF's offense played extremely well on third down Saturday, and even with his interception, Matt Grothe went 7-for-10 for 154 yards on third downs against WKU, including both long passes to Carlton Mitchell and the touchdown to Theo Wilson. USF is also 9-for-10 on red zone scoring, with eight TDs and one field goal.
-- The Louisville Courier-Journal writes that first-half penalties kept WKU from doing more against the Bulls.
-- USF women's soccer fell 1-0 to Central Florida on Sunday. And USF's men's soccer game Sunday against Notre Dame will be broadcast on Bright House Sports Network.
