Noriega leads USF past Colombia in Brazil

We're only getting a limited amount of information on the USF men's basketball team, playing this week in the Pan American University Championships in Brazil, but we can report that the Bulls, playing as Team USA, earned a 90-55 win against Colombia on Monday.

You can read the team's blog from Brazil on USF's official site (Stan Heath's son Jordan, a walk-on freshman guard, is writing it) and it's impressive to see that sophomore guard Shaun Noriega led the way with 20 points, especially when you consider that Noriega totaled all of 17 points in his entire freshman year. Another newcomer, junior Hugh Robertson, had 18 points in his Bulls debut, and frontcourt veterans Gus Gilchrist and Jarrid Famous added 16 points each.

Next up for the Bulls is a game Tuesday against Chile. We'll try to get Heath on the phone to get more about his team's play. ...
