North Marion TE Price commits to USF
USF football has picked up a key commitment toward its 2012 recruiting class, getting a pledge Friday afternoon from Sean Price, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound tight end from Citra North Marion, near Ocala. He's rated as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com, which ranks him as the No. 5 tight end in the nation for his class.
"I got a great feel from being down there -- it felt like home, felt like family," said Price, who said he chose USF over offers from Miami, Arkansas and Tennessee. "I feel very strong about this commitment."
Price is a three-star recruit by Scout.com, which has him as the No. 12 tight end in the country. Price will give the Bulls a big target at a key position -- USF lost its top tight end from last season in senior Kevin Gidrey and has limited experience in the returning players there. He said the key to USF landing his commitment was the constant attention from USF assistant Phil McGeoghan, who worked with tight ends coach Larry Scott in his recruitment.
"I've known Coach McGeoghan since I was a freshman. He was the first coach to really acknowledge my presence at all, and he's like a big brother to me," Price said.
