'Not really torn': Jenn Sterger pulling for FSU

She has attended both schools in Saturday's USF-FSU showdown in Tallahassee, has cheered both teams from the stands, but model Jenn Sterger says it's not a hard decision who to pull for this weekend.

"I'm not really torn. My allegiance always has been with Florida State," said Sterger, a Gaither graduate who attended USF from 2002-04 and graduated from FSU in 2006. "I really enjoyed my time at USF, and they've grown by leaps and bounds from when I was there, but Florida State is where I got my degree."

Sterger said she had planned to go to this weekend's game in Tallahassee, but she'll actually be in Tampa, where her family still lives. She calls New York home now and said she misses college football being a big part of Saturdays in the fall.

"It's not a culture here like it is down south," said Sterger, who said she plans on attending USF's football game at Rutgers on Nov. 12.

Sterger said she was looking forward to Saturday's game more before USF quarterback Matt Grothe was lost to a season-ending knee injury in last week's win against Charleston Southern. She couldn't remember new starter B.J. Daniels' name, and said that lack of familiarity will be trouble at Doak Campbell Stadium.

"I don't foresee it being as big of a competitive game. That really throws a wrench in things," she said. "I don't know that you want to break in a new player against a team like Florida State."

Sterger, who has written for sites like and has a first-person piece due in Cosmopolitan later this year, said she's focusing more of her time on work as an actress, getting ready for production on her fourth movie in Austin, Texas. You can follow her on and join a large following she has on as well.
