Notes: More Bulls trying out for UFL's Tuskers
We reported last month that former USF stars Andre Hall and Jarriett Buie had worked out for the UFL's Florida Tuskers in Orlando, and the team's latest tryout included another round of former Bulls.
Defensive end Aaron Harris attended the team's invitation-only personal workouts on Friday, and Saturday's open tryout included five former USF players -- defensive backs Louis Gachette and Bruce Gipson, linebacker Maurice Jones and tight ends Dexter Baldwin and Trent Pupello.
The team isn't expected to announce its initial offseason signings until early June, but Buie said Tuesday that he has agreed to terms with the Tuskers and will soon officially sign a contract with the team.
There should be more of a USF presence in the league's second season -- guard Frank Davis won a UFL title with Las Vegas last season and was on the team's protected list last month, and former USF defensive coordinator Joe Tresey is part of Jeff Jagodzinski's staff with the expansion Omaha Nighthawks.
-- One more update on former Iowa running back Jeff Brinson -- his former coach at Northeast High in St. Petersburg, Kenny Crawford, said he should know in about two weeks if he will be granted an NCAA hardship waiver, and if he gets that waiver, he'll accept a scholarship to play at Central Florida this fall.
