Orlando forward Clayton is Heath's 6th commitment
The night before the early signing period for men's basketball begins, USF has picked up a sixth commitment to round out its 2013 recruiting class, as Orlando forward Dre Clayton will sign with the Bulls on Wednesday, according to his high school coach, Bulls great Chucky Atkins.
Clayton, 6-foot-6 and 245 pounds, chose the Bulls over Southern Cal, Florida International, UTEP and Murray State, and Atkins said it was a close relationship with the Bulls coaches and players that won him over. Clayton, who can play either forward position at the college level, is rated as a three-star recruit by ESPN and Scout -- he visited USF the same weekend that Atkins was inducted into USF's Athletics Hall of Fame.
Heath will bring in his biggest and highest rated class, led by a pair of national top-100 recruits in center John Egbunu and forward Chris Perry. The class includes two point guards -- his son Josh from Tampa Prep and Drew Davis, Egbunu's teammate in Fort Walton Beach, as well as Michigan standout Byron "Bo" Zeigler and now Clayton.
