Orlando part of new Big East bowl lineup?
ESPN.com's Brian Bennett has a thorough update on what the Big East's new bowl lineup might look like in the new four-year cycle that begins in 2010. Gone is the shared relationship with the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, but it looks like the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando could emerge as a new home for the league's No. 2 team, with the Sun Bowl in El Paso as a possible No. 3 slot.
That would have the Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte as the No. 4 option, and you'd think the St. Petersburg Bowl will keep a place in the Big East lineup, leaving uncertainty for the Big East ties with the Papajohns.com Bowl in Birmingham and the International Bowl in Toronto. Bennett also writes that the Big East is talking with the Independence and EagleBank bowls, as well as potential new bowl in New York City.
