RB Taylor (grades), LB Barrington (injury) out

USF senior running back Jamar Taylor is expected to miss the remainder of spring practices to focus on grades, coach Skip Holtz said Monday night.
Taylor, who is expected to compete to start, hasn’t participated in any spring practices because of academics.
Sophomore Sam Barrington, the starting middle linebacker, will likely miss practice this week with a right shoulder contusion sustained during a tackling drill Friday. Redshirt freshman DeDe Lattimore took Barrington’s place Monday.
“I’ve really been impressed with the things he’s doing, and now he’s stepped into a situation that’s given him an opportunity to come along,” Holtz said. “It’s going to give us the opportunity to have more depth, and it’s going to help the team.”
