Recruiting: QB Woulard to announce today
USF's 2013 football recruiting class has been slow in terms of commitments, but the Bulls could get a major boost of momentum today, as Winter Park quarterback Asiantii Woulard, once a USF commitment, will announce his (presumably final) decision today.
The fact that he's announcing on Tampa radio station 1010 AM at 1:30 with host Justin Pawlowski bodes well for the Bulls -- USF is expected to take two quarterbacks in this recruiting class, with a wide-open starting job in 2013 after B.J. Daniels' departure.
The Bulls look to be in good shape with Woulard, and Thursday brought another development, as N.C. standout Riley Ferguson committed to Tennessee, this just days after a key USF target, Cape Coral's Kurt Benkert, told the Times that he was "basically down to" USF and Tennessee. Benkert is now at Island Coast High, the same school that USF defensive end and Notre Dame transfer Aaron Lynch attended.
USF has a busy two weekends ahead, with more football camp activity on campus today, then the annual SuperBull recruiting event coming up a week from Saturday, both of which could result in commitments for 2013. We'll have updates later today ...
