Reminder: Greg Auman chat at noon
Odd to have a professional draft without months of coverage and mock selections leading up to it, but tonight is the UFL draft, with the second-year league's five franchises choosing 12 players each to help stock their teams.
Each franchise already has 20 players rostered -- guard Frank Davis is on Las Vegas' roster -- and after these 12 draft picks, the teams will sign an additional 20 players. The question is whether any prominent USF alums -- quarterback Matt Grothe, running back Andre Hall and defensive end Aaron Harris come to mind -- will be taken by the Orlando-based Florida Tuskers or any other UFL teams. Defensive end Jarriett Buie told the Times last month that he had agreed to terms with the Tuskers.
(UPDATE: No USF players were among the 60 players drafted Wednesday night. We'll see about signings in the next few days ...)
