Reverse move: Rudd coming back for junior year

Good news for USF men's basketball and coach Stan Heath, as sophomore Victor Rudd, the Bulls' leading scorer during their NCAA Tournament run, has withdrawn his name from the NBA draft pool and will return for his junior year.

Rudd, a 6-foot-8 forward who averaged 9.3 points per game in his first season with the Bulls, will be USF's top returning scorer, having finished just behind Augustus Gilchrist for the team lead. Rudd scored in double digits in all of USF's games in the Big East and NCAA tournaments, showing off his perimeter shooting and highlight-reel dunking abilities.

It's the second time in as many years that a Bulls underclassmen has considered the draft but opted to return, as Gilchrist made the same decision last summer. Guard Dominique Jones left after his junior year in 2010 and was a first-round draft pick, winning an NBA title as a rookie with the Dallas Mavericks last summer.
