Senior Bowl: USF's Selvie out to silence critics

Two front-page stories in the Times on USF football, and neither about a current player or coach? In addition to Gary Shelton's column on Jim Leavitt, we have Times writer Stephen Holder, in Mobile for the Senior Bowl, writing about former USF defensive end George Selvie, working to upgrade his draft stock this week.

One interesting point in the story, and something we've heard about fellow defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul as well -- could they get a look as outside linebackers in a 3-4 NFL defense?

"They want to know if I mind standing up," Selvie told the Times. "I feel like I can rush the passer standing up or with my hand in the dirt. I'll just have to prove that I can play linebacker. They want to see me run in space, so I'm going to have to work on that a lot."
