Signing off: Buckley's last diary from Italy

Buck_2 USF senior forward Melvin Buckley is writing a diary from the Bulls' 12-day foreign tour of Italy. He and his teammates arrive home to Tampa on Wednesday night, but here's his last dispatch from overseas.

“Can’t Knock the Hustle,” by  ... yep, you guessed it, Jay-Z. I mean we started with Jay, so we have to finish with him. The last two games were learning experiences for us, we played some of their best pro teams over here and stood toe-to-toe expecting to win, not just put up a good fight. In the end, I really saw a lot in our team. I think we definitely have things to work on, but those are things we can fix. You can’t fix character though and I honestly believe that’s what we gained over here. We gained just a greater appreciation for not only the game of basketball, but the little things we take for granted on a daily basis.

I want to formally thank all of the people that have been reading this and keeping up with us, we really appreciate your support. It’s easy to be a fan when things are going great, but those of you who fight it out with us are going to be proud when we get on our feet. Thanks also to those who made it possible to go on this trip; I can’t begin to tell you all how much this truly means to me.  Well, who knew that a kid from Chicago would make it this far. Now that you’ve seen what happened in the summer just wait ‘til the season. Catch ya later!!!
