Sixth round underway, Mitchell still waiting
As we mentioned, there was a solid run of receivers at the start of the fourth round, with four taken in the first 10 picks. Cincinnati's Mardy Gilyard went to the Rams to start the round, and then the Bucs drafted their second receiver -- Syracuse's Mike Williams.
Of the 53 underclassmen who entered the NFL draft, 41 were picked in the first five rounds -- Mitchell is among the 12 still waiting, along with players like Mississippi quarterback Jevan Snead and Marshall running back Darius Marshall.
Where will Mitchell land? Will he be the next Bulls player drafted? My guess is that he goes to Philadelphia, which has three of the next eight picks and hasn't drafted a receiver yet this weekend.
-- Will quarterback Matt Grothe find his way into today's draft? Grothe did a good thing Friday and spent time with children at the Ronald McDonald House in St. Petersburg. Thanks to his dad for sending the pic -- we'll be following Grothe and the other remaining Bulls during and after today's draft to see where they land.
-- As far as our picks contest, major props to David Weber, who missed the first three USF by a combined FOUR spots -- one off on Jason Pierre-Paul, perfect on Nate Allen, three off on Jerome Murphy. Rob is second with seven points, and four others have 20 points or less. Our outlier, Bulls Fan, is the farthest off, with 261 total points, missing by an average of 87 spots. (And of the 31 of you, only two thought Mitchell wouldn't be drafted in first four rounds).
