Skip Holtz lands Louisiana Tech job
Former Bulls coach Skip Holtz has accepted the Louisiana Tech job, according to multiple reports. Holtz, fired Dec. 2 after going 16-21 in three seasons at USF, takes over for Sonny Dykes, now the coach at Cal. Holtz inherits a team that went 9-3 and led the nation in scoring at 52 points a game.
Before USF, Holtz had been head coach at Connecticut and East Carolina. He becomes the fourth consecutive La Tech coach who is the son of a major college coach following Dykes (Spike Dykes, Texas Tech), Derek Dooley (Vince Dooley, Georgia) and Jack Bicknell Jr. (Jack Sr., Boston College).
