Smith sparks Bulls to OT win in Alaska
USF's women's basketball team got clutch shots from guard Andrell Smith, who scored five points in the final 25 seconds of regulation and hit a key 3-pointer in overtime to lead the Bulls to an 86-80 win against Central Michigan in the Great Alaska Shootout.
Smith hit a game-tying three with 25 seconds left, then trailing by two in the closing seconds, was fouled on a 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds left, hitting two of three shots to force overtime. USF (4-2) scored the final six points in overtime, and will face the winner of host Alaska-Anchorage and No. 9 Miami, likely getting a shot to knock off a top in-state rival.
