Softball bounces back after first Big East loss
USF softball saw its 10-game winning streak end with a 3-1 loss at Seton Hall on Friday afternoon, but the Bulls bounced back with a 9-0 win in the second game to improve to 8-1 in conference play.
The Bulls (28-16) led 1-0 entering the final inning of the first game but saw the Pirates (13-25) strike for three runs in the seventh for their first Big East win in 12 attempts. In the second game, Janine Richardson had a three-run home run as one of five Bulls with at least two hits. Alexis Nowell, hitting ninth in the USF order, went 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Freshman Sara Nevins was dominant again, holding Seton Hall to three hits in six scoreless innings, striking out eight and walking just one.
The Bulls wrap up the three-game series with a final game Saturday at noon.
