Some progress for Robinson, Walker
Two Bulls starters out with ankle injuries since Thursday took a step of progress Monday as linebacker Chris Robinson and tackle Walter Walker watched practice without the immobilizer boots they'd worn Friday and Saturday.
Neither player participated in Monday's morning workout, and coach Jim Leavitt said Saturday it could be "possibly a couple of weeks" before they're fully recovered. Walker's absence Monday was compounded by a new, unknown injury: sophomore Danny Tolley, a top backup at tackle, also watched practice in a T-shirt and shorts. We'll update his status later Monday.
With Robinson out, junior Tyrone McKenzie lined up with the first-team defense at outside linebacker, with junior Brouce Mompremier at the other outside position and senior Ben Moffitt in the middle. The Bulls have moved their practices to a different set of intramural fields; receiver Colby Erskin tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee Saturday as he came down from making a catch during drills on the other fields.
