Tackle Popek likely out 3-6 weeks

USF got some good news today on Mark Popek.

The sophomore, carted off the field after being injured during practice Wednesday in Vero Beach, was diagnosed with a second degree sprain of the MCL in his right knee.

He is expected to be sidelined 3-6 weeks, which would mean he will miss the start of the season but be back in time for all of the Big East games.

Popek, who started five of the final six games last season, was competing for a starting tackle position.
