Big Bird is proud to have a new home for 2013.

No, this has nothing to do with Mitt Romney or Sesame Street. But lanky 6-foot-5 receiver Zach Benjamin of Tampa Catholic, proudly on Twitter at @thebigbird11, committed to USF on Wednesday, just a day after getting his first major offer from the Bulls.

"After talking with my family friends and coaches, I've officially committed to the University of South Florida!," he wrote on Twitter in announcing his decision. 

He's rated at No. 48 in the Times' HomeTeam 100, and is a three-star recruit according to Rivals, getting two stars from Scout and 247. Here's our story from the Times' Joel D. Anderson.
