They're new in the sense that we're just now discovering them, but we can report that USF coach Lelo Prado has two more commitments for his 2011-12 recruiting class, from Ocala infielder Kyle Teaf and Longwood outfielder Austin Lueck.

Both are from the same Orlando Scorpions baseball program as another 2011 commitment, Bartow's Buddy Putnam. Scorpions coach Sal Lombardo said the Bulls are in strong position for two more rising seniors in the Scorpions program -- Christian Magno and Will Resnik of Orlando's Bishop Moore High School.

Teaf, from Trinity Catholic, was a second-team all-state selection as a sophomore in 2009, and made first-team all-county honors from the Ocala Star-Banner, which called him a "defensive wizard" and listed him as hitting .333 with 19 stolen bases and 36 runs. Lueck, who also plays defensive back at Lake Brantley, is also highly coveted for his speed on the basepaths.

With less than a month now until the Aug. 15 deadline, USF is still waiting for official word from several draft picks still undecided about signing pro deals or playing for the Bulls, including junior ace Randy Fontanez and signees Kyle Waldrop, James Ramsay and Nick Gonzalez. Prado, who hopes to name a new pitching coach by the end of the week, added former University of Tampa assistant Frank Maldonado to his staff as a volunteer assistant last week, replacing former Bulls infielder Charles Cleveland.
