Undrafted, USF RB Scott to sign with Cowboys
USF junior running back Darrell Scott, passed over in this weekend's NFL Draft, will be signing as a free agent with the Dallas Cowboys, his agent, Mike Ballard, said Sunday night.
Scott opted to skip his senior year and enter the draft after only one season at USF -- he played parts of two seasons at Colorado before transferring to the Bulls in 2010. He rushed for a team-high 814 yards last fall, but his best numbers came in games against lesser opponents.
Scott will have a good shot to make the roster of the Cowboys, who did not use any of their draft picks on running backs. Dallas returns its top two backs from last season in veteran Felix Jones and second-year pro DeMarco Murray.
