USF baseball falls 15-9 at North Florida
Can't tell what is more impressive about USF's 15-9 loss at North Florida on Wednesday night -- that the Bulls used NINE pitchers in the loss, or that eight of those pitchers gave up at least one hit? That USF had 15 hits and lost, or that the Bulls lost by six runs to a team that committed four errors?
USF dropped to 22-27 on the season -- the Bulls now need a pair of three-game sweeps to avoid entering the conference tournament with a losing record -- and finished a long year of midweek struggles. Bright spots? Leadoff batter Luis Llerena had four hits and freshman Jimmy Falla had a two-run pinch-hit home run.
The Bulls will play the final series at Red McEwen Field this weekend -- we'll have much more on that Thursday.
