USF beats Coppin, advances in WNIT

It's not the NCAA Tournament, but USF's women's basketball team has doubled its all-time postseason win total in just one night. The Bulls, tied 46-46 with Coppin State with 8:20 to play, scored the next 10 points, pulling away to a 66-49 win in the WNIT second round at the Sun Dome on Monday night.

It's only the second postseason win in USF's history, following a win against Florida in the 2005 WNIT. USF will be on the road Thursday night to face Virginia, which advanced by beating Charlotte on Monday night.

USF's Nalini Miller set the school's single-game record with nine blocks, including seven in the first half. USF reset the school record with 16 total blocks, and senior Jessica Dickson led the Bulls with 24 points. Coppin did not hit a field goal in the final nine minutes of the game, outscored 20-3, and finished with a shooting percentage of .274, the lowest by a Bulls opponent this season.
