USF-Cincinnati: More pregame reading ...

October

Tbtcover Ridiculous amount of links to share on USF's game with CIncinnati tonight, so I'll get right to it. The pic to the left is the back cover of today's TBT*, teasing to our Carlton Mitchell story. Now the links:

-- Lots of national press for the game, like this feature on B.J. Daniels in USAtoday.com. The Philadelphia Daily News has a story on the game, and The Sporting News' Matt Hayes, who will be at tonight's game, wrote about the Bulls and Bearcats as well. The Chicago Tribune has this game leading off its "five games to watch" feature.

-- Fun writeup on Bigeastsportsblog.com on USF's defensive ends, with some amusing back-and-forth between George Selvie and Jason Pierre-Paul.

-- Here's the scouting report from the Cincinnati Enquirer.

-- The Lakeland Ledger writes about the ballhawking nature of USF's defense, which already has 16 takeaways, one less than in all of last season. Tom Zebold also has a feature on USF relishing its role as underdogs.

-- The Sarasota Herald-Tribune looks at USF's troubles on Thursday nights in the past two seasons. Writer Alan Dell also has a feature on Pierre-Paul.

-- The Orlando Sentinel has an online poll asking who will win tonight's game -- as I write this, Cincinnati has 65 percent of the vote.

-- The Daytona Beach News-Journal has a story on a pair of former high school teammates in Cincy's Mardy Gilyard and USF linebacker Chris Robinson. Gosh, that Tresey "we just need to play" quote looks familiar.

-- I don't know that I'd call USF a spoiler tonight, since the Bulls have as much to gain or lose as the Bearcats do, but the Bradenton Herald's Roger Mooney writes that USF can play spoiler for Cincinnati.

-- The folks at Cnati.com e-mailed me questions about the game and I answered them.

-- Three panelists from Athlonsports.com are all picking Cincinnati to win.
