USF commitment Woulard named Elite 11 MVP

Here's news that should elevate future USF quarterback Asiantii Woulard's national profile -- the Winter Park standout came home with MVP honors on Sunday night from ESPN's Elite 11 event in California.

Woulard, committed to sign with the Bulls in February, had a strong week, earning praise from writers covering the recruiting event. The MVP honors should raise his recruiting profile -- as is stands, he's a four-star prospect by Scout and 247, but a three-star recruit in's rankings. And the more attention that Woulard receives, the better he is equipped to help recruit other standouts to play for USF.

Winter Park played in USF's Sling-n-Shoot 7-on-7 tournament on Sunday afternoon, losing in the round of 16 to Steinbrenner High just before nearby lightning postponed and ultimately ended the event, which brought 48 top teams from Florida and Georgia.

We'll have more on Woulard's big week at the Elite 11 camp on Monday.
