USF football date with Michigan State now in 2018
Minor scheduling tweak to pass along -- USF football's home game against Michigan State (in town for today's Outback Bowl against Georgia) has been moved for a second time, bumped from 2017 to 2018 at the Spartans' request.
When USF announced the home-and-home series in 2006, the Bulls were to host the Spartans in 2012, with a trip to Lansing scheduled for 2013. The road game is still in place, but when USF added a home-and-home series with Florida State, it bumped the home game from 2012 to 2017.
USF is still waiting to find out if its 2012 schedule is complete -- if the Big East has only seven conference games, the Bulls will need a fifth nonconference game and has been in talks with several schools about the potential opening. If the league somehow expands this fall and has a full eight conference games, there would be no need for any additional games on the schedule, with home dates against I-AA Chattanooga and Florida State and road games at Miami and Ball State.
