USF freshman goes high in MLS draft
Anthony Wallace, a USF freshman soccer player from St. Petersburg, was taken with the ninth pick in the first round of Friday's MLS Superdraft by F.C. Dallas. Wallace, a member of the national Under 20 team, is the second key underclassman to leave the Bulls this season, joining junior Rodrigo Hidalgo. Hidalgo, who had considered playing professionally in Europe, plans on playing in MLS, but he decided after the date for today's draft, so he'll be part of a special allocation lottery, likely next week.
