USF men's basketball will play at Kansas on Dec. 3
USF men's basketball will take on a national powerhouse for the first time in the program's history next season, as the Bulls have agreed to play Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse on Dec. 3.
It's the first time the Bulls will play the Jayhawks, who went 35-3 this season under coach Bill Self before losing to VCU in the Elite Eight. With just one senior in its top six scorers this season, Kansas -- which entered the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed and ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press Top 25 -- should again be one of the nation's top teams in 2011-12.
The Bulls could face another elite program next season, as there's a 50-50 chance they'll face Kentucky in the final game of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tipoff tournament in Springfield, Mass.
The game is on the same day as the final Saturday of the college football season, but it won't present a conflict for Bulls fans, as USF's football team finishes its regular season two days earlier, on Dec. 1, at home against West Virginia.
