USF pulls offer from commitment Rafferty
The Times' Joey Knight has a story on USF pulling a scholarship offer from commitment Connor Rafferty, an offensive lineman from Tampa's Robinson High.
Rafferty's mother said he was notified Sunday night by USF that it would be in his best interests to look elsewhere, as USF had other linemen rated higher. Rafferty was one of two USF commitments from Robinson, along with defensive lineman Bruce Hector. He committed to USF in June, and according to his mother, has no other scholarship offers, leaving him scrambling three weeks before national signing day.
The practice isn't unusual in college football, especially after a coaching change. But athletic director Doug Woolard said when Taggart was hired that USF would honor scholarship offers to all recruits who had committed to the Bulls under Skip Holtz.
