USF-Rutgers fun already started with soccer
USF's football game at Rutgers is still a full three days away, but there's already some fun jabbing back and forth between the schools' men's soccer teams, who played Monday in New Jersey. USF got the tie it needed to clinch the Big East's Red Division championship over the Scarlet Knights -- Rutgers could have shared the title with a win against the Bulls -- and USF senior goalkeeper Chris Blais didn't mind reminding Rutgers of that on Wednesday afternoon on Twitter.
Blais posted a photo of the division championship trophy from USF's Marshall Center, playfully tweeting "haha you don't have one" to Rutgers player Joe Setchell, a teammate and friend of USF star Dom Dwyer last season at Tyler Junior College in Texas before joining the Scarlet Knights.
Dwyer, on Twitter at @ddwyer14, has had an amusing back-and-forth with Setchell going back to before Monday's game. And Blais pointed out with a "Yikes" that Rutgers got a rough draw in the Big East tournament, likely facing national power Connecticut in the quarterfinals this weekend. Again, it's all in good fun.
Soccer is arguably the most successful sport on USF's campus, and its players are among the most active (and entertaining) on Twitter. We keep a list of USF soccer players on Twitter you can follow with a single click. ...
