August

The weekend before the start of the fall semester saw three USF teams face off against Big Ten programs, highlighted by men's soccer rallying for a 2-1 victory over Michigan before a regular-season record crowd announced as 3,076 fans att Corbett Stadium.

Trailing 1-0 in the second half, the Bulls scored twice in less than a minute, the second on a rebound by Palm Harbor's Ben Sweat off a blocked penalty kick. The Bulls stayed in control for a promising opening win against a program just two seasons removed from the NCAA College Cup. Here's the full story from Tom Zebold with video on USF's official site.

Women's soccer, playing at Indiana, got a solid 3-0 win with two more goals from Sharla Passariello -- she has three in three games, after scoring three in preseason. And volleyball, playing their first match under new head coach Courtney Draper, lost at home in three games to Wisconsin.
