USF vs. Tuscaloosa Technical Institute of Poetry?
I'm posting this mostly to let Bulls fans know of a good deal today at coupon site Groupon.com, where you can get a USF football season ticket that regularly goes for $170 for just $80. Single-game tickets to the Western Kentucky and Florida Atlantic games are just $12 as well.
But someone in USF's advertising department or at Groupon has a sense of humor. The Bulls have some incredibly challenging nonconference road games, playing at Florida and Miami, but the nonconference home games aren't particularly compelling, with I-AA Stony Brook, then WKU and FAU. If you read the ad for the discount season tickets, it says that the season ticket is "good for all seven regular home games against teams such as Connecticut, Syracuse, and the Tuscaloosa Technical Institute of Poetry."
It's also interesting to note that the WKU and FAU tickets are in the upper bowl, which speaks well of the ticket sales. Speaking of that, USF executive associate athletic director Bill McGillis reports that the Bulls are up to 22,709 total season tickets sold and distributed, which keeps them about 5 percent off last year's total at this time. That includes about 65 tickets sold Sunday as part of the "select-a-seat" campaign during FanFest at Raymond James Stadium.
