USF women up 11 at half

If a win Saturday puts USF in the NCAA Tournament, then the Bulls are halfway there. USF leads 35-24 on Seton Hall in a rematch of a game the Bulls won in Tampa on Monday. Just as the Bulls forced 10 more turnovers than they committed Monday, they're a plus-8 on turnover margin in the first half, committing five turnovers while forcing 13.

I'm not in Hartford, but I'll be checking back in with another update after the game. Jessica Dickson, who went 3-for-16 in Monday's win, has found her shooting touch, scoring 12 points in the first half on 6-for-10 shooting. That's something they'll need Sunday if they win and advance to face host Connecticut, which went undefeated in Big East play this season.

Athletic director Doug Woolard was interviewed by women's play-by-play man Tom Krasniqui at halftime of the women's game, but the topic of men's coach Robert McCullum did not come up. The USF men are down 11 at halftime in what could be McCullum's final game as head coach. I don't know that Woolard will make a decision -- at least a public one -- until Wednesday or later in the week because he has out-of-town business early in the week.
