USF women lose opener to No. 14 FSU, 62-49

We're here in Syracuse for tonight's USF football game, but the Bulls' women's basketball team lost its opener Friday, falling 62-49 to No. 14 Florida State in Daytona Beach.

Strong debut for junior center Caitlin Rowe, who had a team-high 19 points, with Jasmine Wynne as the only other player in double figures at 12. Guard Andrell Smith went 1-for-13 from the field, and center Akila McDonald continues to struggle with foul trouble, limited to four points in 12 minutes before she fouled out.

The Bulls have two more games in Daytona this weekend, with Arkansas on Saturday and Minnesota on Sunday.
