USF women's hoops falls to Idaho State
It's a decent rule of thumb that if you don't know the mascot of the team USF loses to, it's not exactly a quality win. I can't say I knew that Idaho State was the Bengals, but the Bulls certainly know that after spotting them a 17-0 lead on the way to a 76-63 loss in Colorado.
The Bulls, now 5-4, face host Air Force today -- with former Bulls assistant Andrea Williams as head coach -- and USF needs to pile up the nonconference wins where it can to build a postseason resume before Big East play starts.
Frontcourt starters Caitlin Rowe and Akila McDonald went a combined 0-for-7 from the field and didn't score a point, with Tiffany Conner getting a career-high 16 points and eight rebounds off the bench. Jasmine Wynne led the Bulls with 17 points, and Idaho State won despite 25 turnovers. Here's the full story from USF's official site.
After today's game against Air Force, the Bulls don't play again until a Dec. 14 game at Auburn, with the next home game Dec. 17 against Maryland-Eastern Shore. (Bonus points if you know their mascot ...)
