USF's Genshaft named to NCAA bowl task force
USF President Judy Genshaft, continuing to have an active role in college athletics, is one of three university presidents on the NCAA's new Bowl Licensing Task Force, unveiled by NCAA President Mark Emmert on Monday.
"Through the strong and inclusive leadership we have assembled, the task force will undertake a full review of the bowl structure to ensure the integrity of the system and bring a better public understanding of the NCAA's role with licensing bowl game," Emmert said in a statement released by the NCAA.
Genshaft has spent the past year as chair of the NCAA board of directors, a role she will continue in through next April. As USF President, she has had a unique view on college football's bowl system -- of the six bowls USF has played in, all six have either changed title sponsors or ceased to exist (International Bowl in Toronto) since the Bulls played in them.
