USF's Tresey faces familiar foe in Bearcats

Can USF defensive coordinator Joe Tresey's familiarity with Cincinnati help the Bulls end a three-game losing streak to the Bearcats? Fans will find out Thursday night, and you can get an early look at a story in Wednesday's Times about Tresey and his reunion with Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly.

Speaking of Tresey, there's a note in the Cincinnati Enquirer this afternoon that Cincy receiver Mardy Gilyard said the Bearcats coaches are "licking their chops" at the prospect of facing Tresey's defense Thursday. I think that should cover the bulletin-board requirements for the week ...

-- One quick note -- Thursday's game isn't looking like a sellout, but don't blame that on USF's students, who have gobbled up every spot in the Big East's largest student section, with all 12,501 student seats now spoken for. -- Bulls fans should be genuinely torn on Wednesday afternoon -- there's a pep rally on campus at the Marshall Center at noon, but I'm chatting here at 12:30 p.m. and taking your questions on Thursday's game. I'd like somebody to do double-duty so they can report to the chat on the turnout for the pep rally and whether USF's coaches or players said anything notable ...
