Video: Final touches for baseball, softball stadiums

We're finishing up a package for Wednesday's paper on USF's new baseball and softball stadiums, which are scheduled to have their first games in the next few days -- softball on Thursday night against Central Connecticut State and baseball on Friday against Elon.

Taking one last tour of the construction area this morning, we have a video that gives a good sense of the new ballparks -- they'll be busy in the next few days with the last touches, to be sure. The protective fencing behind home plate in both parks, for instance, hasn't been installed yet, and there's a lot of landscaping to be done, but if the games go as scheduled, USF will frame them in a "work in progress" context, making sure fans understand the stadiums won't be fully completed for another two or three weeks.

We'll have lots more on the new stadiums tonight and tomorrow, and we'll be at the openings for both with more then ...
