Video: Heath says Collins now starter at point guard
USF men's basketball has a big two-game road trip this week with games at VCU and Kansas, and coach Stan Heath talked to reporters on Monday afternoon, saying that he's seen enough to move freshman point guard Anthony Collins into the starting lineup.
Collins, who has 13 assists in two games off the bench, is still recovering physically from the hip flexor that caused him to miss USF's first five games. The Bulls are 5-2 as they head up to Richmond, and Heath said there could be more good news if guard Jawanza Poland is cleared this week to return from his back injury.
