Video: Holtz back with new hat, same Vero

Exciting news in the Holtz Headwear Dept., as USF's head coach was sporting a Bulls bucket hat for today's postgame interview. I told him sales will go through the roof. Enjoy, with our annotated background highlights:

0:02: Yes, that's executive associate athletic director Bill McGillis on the left. He, like myself, made a rare shorts appearance Sunday.

0:10: If you look in the bottom-right corner, you can actually see the infield dirt from the once-Dodgers field the Bulls are using in Vero. This interview was right around shortstop, with the Bulls working in left-center most of the afternoon. Obscure Dodgers name-dropped in conversation Sunday: Steve Sax, Rick Monday, Manny Mota.

0:18: That's long-snapper Mike Walsh (#68) leading a bevy of special-teams specialists. They often get their own field in Vero, working one field over from the rest of the team.

0:55: If you look quickly, there's a Mike Lanaris crossing.

1:07: Walking right to left is USF's Larry Antonucci, who, if the Dodgers hadn't left Brooklyn, wouldn't be the huge Yankees fan that he is.

2:15: Me and Larry Weisbaum from both start questions and abruptly yield to the other at the same time -- twice -- before I let Larry have an August chestnut: "Any guys stand out to you today?"

2:30: Walk-on tight end Tyler Guy, with a keen awareness of what's on camera, stops and takes his shoulder pads off. Having served a two-year stint in our east Pasco bureau, I'm contractually obligated to say he's from Dade City.

4:10: So Holtz has to bolt for a second. He came back to discuss the departures of Dontae Aycock and Brandon Wilkinson, but we didn't record that part.
