Video: Holtz talks after Bulls' first practice
Video! Here's Skip Holtz after USF's first football practice of the fall. To make the video more fun, I've annotated a few highlights below:
0:01: People-watching! Yes, that's former Bucs star Chris Hovan, now a strength and conditioning intern, walking up the ramp in the background. Yes, that's a double-fist-bump he pulls off.
1:01: More people-watching! That's Pat Burnham, USF's assistant director of football operations. I miss being able to quote his dad, Wally, one of the all-time great quotes.
2:10: First freshman shoutout from Holtz is cornerback Kenneth Durden.
3:05: Zack Bullock gets a freshman name-drop as well.
4:02: Holtz sounds like he's about to use his "drinking water through a fire hose" metaphor -- a staple of his first August -- but he doesn't!
The new practice facility does provide for better backgrounds for video than, say, the old practice fields, where you often got a Port-O-John behind the head coach. (Was that one always blurry like that?)
