Video: A triple-bill of USF coaches previewing Pitt
So Skip Holtz shows up for his weekly presser in a Bulls polo instead of the suit-and-tie we've come to expect this season, and we call him out that he's actually dressing up for the weekly coach's show (which he didn't have today) and not the local media. He astutely points out that we're in jeans, and we have nothing we can really say to respond to that.
Here's the first few minutes from Holtz's news conference, during which he honestly claimed not to know (a) how many times in a row Pitt has beaten his team and (b) what USF's record is on Thursday nights on ESPN. I believe his ignorance on both counts.
If you watch closely, after Holtz says that Mitchell isn't playing Thursday, my camerawork gets a little wobbly as I try to tweet that news with my left hand while still kind of keeping his head in the frame with my right. And fail miserably. Here's Mark Snyder, with the trademark pencil over the right ear. OK, not technically trademarked, so we'll say "signature." I think he sharpens that right before he comes down for interviews.
And here's offensive coordinator Todd Fitch, who also likes the standing-in-front-of-the-Bull-statue's-butt backdrop. Good, specific observations about Pitt's defense though. I'm trying to be tactful when I say "Tulsa wasn't necessarily known for its defense in Conference USA."
