Warren makes Phil Steele first-team All-Big East
I'm a few days late with this, but Phil Steele released his postseason All-Big East teams -- only went three deep, after a gluttonous four in preseason, honoring half the league's players -- and senior guard Jeremiah Warren was the lone USF player on his first team.
Two more Bulls -- defensive end Ryne Giddins and linebacker DeDe Lattimore -- made Steele's second team all-conference, with another seven -- RB Darrell Scott, C Chaz Hine, OT Mark Popek, LB Mike Lanaris, CB Kayvon Webster, S Jerrell Young and PK Maikon Bonani -- making the third team.
In total selections on the three teams, USF ranked fifth out of eight teams -- UConn had 14, WVU 13, Cincy and Rutgers 12, USF 10, Syracuse 9, Pitt 8 and Louisville 6.
Curious to compare these honors to his preseason team -- he had Lindsey Lamar on the first team as a punt returner and Terrence Mitchell on second team for kickoff returns; then again, he had USF's Curtis Weatherspoon as a third-team all-conference selection as well.
