Where Are They Now: WR Edgard Theliar
Two quick hits from the Where Are They Now Dept., and we'll start with Edgard Theliar, a junior college receiver from Bradenton who was committed to USF for much of the 2008-09 recruiting season, only to back out at the last minute and sign with Florida International. Theliar never made it to FIU, and after a year out of football, he's resurfaced at Division II Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Theliar, a junior, is the top receiver for the Mustangs, who are 2-0 and ranked No. 13 in Division II. In two games, he has seven catches for 159 yards and a touchdown. Here's a mention in the local paper out there -- not sure that Theliar would have made a big impact at USF, but he's found a home where he can make a splash at a smaller level. ...
-- We wrote a few weeks back about former USF walk-on and special-teamer Lucas Darr, who is making a difference at Div. II North Alabama, Terry Bowden's program. Darr has done enough in two games to merit a feature in his local paper, TimesDaily.com, where he talks about his USF days and his decision to transfer after Jim Leavitt's firing.
