Women's soccer advances to Big East semis
Big win Sunday for USF women's soccer, which prevailed over Georgetown 1-0 in double overtime to advance to the semifinals of the Big East tournament, helping upgrade the Bulls' NCAA tournament resume along the way.
USF (12-4-3) got a goal from Venecia Reid in the 109th minute to edge the Hoyas (13-6-1). The Bulls advance to face top-seeded Marquette in Friday's semifinals on the Rutgers campus in New Jersey. USF entered the match with an RPI of 46, but by beating the Hoyas (RPI: 17) the Bulls have helped their chances at an at-large NCAA berth.
