Full disclosure: My preseason AP Top 25 ballot ...

I'm headed over to Vero Beach for USF's final practice there this morning, but first, it's that time of year again: I'm back as a voter in the Associated Press Top 25 college football poll, and the Times allows its writers to vote in such things only if we disclose our ballots publicly. So here you have it -- remember, the preseason poll is the only one that calls for an AP voter to cast a ballot based on personal expectations, not results.

I hear those of you who don't like preseason polls or think they're meaningless -- just don't read this, or put much stock into it if that's the case. It's a chance to have a conversation about college football, to agree and disagree and make your opinions known. I welcome the comments and criticism and assure you they make me revisit my own evaluations that much more as the season progresses. So have at it and enjoy. ...
