USF lands transfer Stephan Jiggetts, Michael Bibby departs
USF has received a commitment from Fairleigh Dickinson graduate transfer PG Stephan Jiggetts, who is expected to be eligible for the 2017-18 season.
CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein first reported Jiggetts' commitment Sunday. The 6-foot-1 Maryland native already has USF (and a Bull horns icon) on his Twitter bio.
The arrival of Jiggetts coincides with the departure of freshman PG Michael Bibby, who announced via Twitter late Saturday night he is transferring. Bibby, who averaged 6.6 points and 1.9 assists in his lone season as a Bull, becomes the sixth USF player to depart since the end of the season.
USF will be Jiggetts' third college; he transferred to FDU from Albany during the 2013-14 season.
Jiggetts averaged 13.5 points and 4.2 assists as a junior last season for the Knights, who finished 11-19 overall and 9-9 in the Northeast Conference. He averaged double figures each of his last two seasons, shooting 81.7 percent from the free-throw line (but only 31.3 percent from 3-point range) in 2016-17.
Here's some footage of Jiggetts, believed to be the third Bulls commitment of the Brian Gregory era. Hargrave Military Academy swingman Justin Brown has signed, and Penn State graduate transfer Terrence Samuel -- another guard -- reportedly has committed to USF.
