Rising from the dead (period): Bulls coaches hit trail
The furious final surge of the 2015-16 recruiting season began Thursday with USF coaches apparently giving top priority to those who already have made non-binding commitments to the Bulls.
USF began the day, the first day following the NCAA's monthlong dead period, with 12 commitments. Two of those, Sickles QB Chris Oladokun and Davenport Ridge OG Logan MacDonald, both told the Tampa Bay Times they had been visited by Bulls coaches Thursday.
Coaches from Jesuit, Pasco, Plant, Armwood and Tampa Catholic -- none of which have players currently committed to USF -- said Bulls coaches had not been to their schools as Thursday afternoon, though all have players coveted by USF.
However, East Bay four-star CB KJ Sails was slated to visit Thursday night with Bulls defensive coordinator Tom Allen, veteran 247Sports recruiting analyst Josh Newberg reported.
Sails has indicated via Twitter the Bulls are among his five finalists, joining Rutgers, Cincinnati, West Virginia and Maryland. It is believed Sails will wait until national signing day before announcing his choice.
