The first USF naysayer -- albeit a mild one -- of the preseason has reared its glossy self on your local newsstand.

The Sporting News' preseason college magazine projects Temple to win the American Athletic Conference's East Division, with the Bulls picked second. Lindy's, Athlon Sports and ESPN all pick the Bulls to win the East.

"The Bulls will ride a wave of confidence this season, knowing that they defeated every AAC East opponent last year and return the school's single-season record-holders at quarterback (Quinton Flowers), running back (Marlon Mack) and wide receiver (Rodney Adams)," the magazine says.

Mack, Adams and CB Deatrick Nichols made TSN's first-team preseason All-AAC team. Coach Willie Taggart was named the league's "best interview;" while DT Daniel Awoleke, a former walk-on granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA, was named the AAC's "biggest overachiever."

As for USF's incoming class, TSN lists Miami Central WR Darnell Salomon, Admiral Farragut S Craig Watts and juco DE Tramal Ivy as the Bulls' "top signees."
